The covered Pavilion at Turkey Ridge Park provides a grand setting for a family picnic.

Trails & Wildilfe

Few corners of the world are as untouched and lush as Lake Keowee. Within a radius of 75 miles, there are a million protected acres of forest. As the headwaters of four rivers and the home to countless waterfalls, this is a mountaintop Eden. So special is this area that it is one of only two places in the world where the wild Oconee Bell grows.

In this area of breathtaking beauty, you’ll enjoy miles of hiking trails within The Reserve. 5 1/2 miles of trails are already blazed, with more to come. Using our comprehensive
Trail Guide or online Trail Journal , families follow paths once walked by the Cherokee, search for over 75 different varieties of birds, and marvel at a waterfall as it cascades to the lake.

Your day may begin or end at Turkey Ridge Park where kids and adults play softball, basketball, volleyball and toss horseshoes. Then top it off with a picnic or cookout at the covered Pavilion with its grand stone fireplace, a grille, and picnic tables.

This is land to be enjoyed both now and forever. Over 400 acres at The Reserve have been placed in a perpetual conservation easement to preserve natural habitats for flora, fauna, and wildlife. More acreage will be protected in future phases.
